I went to the oral surgeon yesterday, and had the bad tooth pulled. A titanium spike was implanted in my skull, and when it all heals, I get a permanent fake tooth. Cost: $2585. About half as much as we were expecting, but still a hell of a lot of money. And I was upset to find out that the fake tooth itself will be extra, I was under the impression that I was paying for for the whole deal yesterday. Ugh..
Anyway, it hurts, and it looks pretty ugly. I was given the flipper, the temporary false tooth, and shown how to put it in, but things are still too tender and swollen to wear it yet. I may not wear it a lot, it's pretty much impossible to talk with it in.

We're now at 21 days and counting for our Wiscon trip. We're doing the LJ party as usual, and also the photo booth. Luke had said he wasn't going to do it this year, but then he changed his mind. It kinda puts us on the shit list of the party organizers. The photo booth isn't an actual party, but it happens in a party room, so it's counted as one, and it takes away one party that could be held in that room. And that also means that technically, we're one group throwing two parties, not cool from the party organizers point of view. Anyway, Luke ordered the lights and other equipment today, so it's happening.
I'm looking forward to the trip, a few days with my family before Wiscon, a few days with Luke's family in Chicago after. The con itself is always good, though I'm mostly there to be social and see friends, not so much for the panels and the deep subject matter that Wiscon is known for these days.

In automotive news, after all my talk about what I want to do with my car, I went to order more magnets from Oriental Trading, and they're out of stock.
I need these )
I called OT and asked if they were just temporarily out of stock, or actually discontinued. I was told that they were not discontinued, and to try back in a couple weeks. So of course I check the site Every Single Day, hoping to see them back in stock! You can find such magnets in hardware or craft stores, but no-one sells them anywhere near as cheap as OT.

That's all my brain has for today.
