I'm scared, as always...

My birthday wish came true, I'm going to spend it in Seattle, with holyoutlaw. But I'm scared of the whole airplane thing. I usually have nightmares for a few days beforehand, anytime I'm planning to fly somewhere. But I did it in April, and I will do it tomorrow.

My eyes drove me crazy all weekend, and they're still bothering me. Never swelling up badly enough to say "this must be pinkeye", but being so red and so itchy, I wanted to dig both of them out of my head with a spork. It feels like there is sand under my eyelids. Cold compresses help, I've got these plastic, refreezable ice cube thingys, I wrap them in a washcloth and lay them over my eyes. As soon as they warm up, I put them back in the freezer and take out two more. Whatever the problem is, it's at home. The second I walk out of my apartment, my eyes are fine. I refuse to even acknowledge the possibility that after 16 years, I have suddenly developed an allergy to my cat. When I return from Seattle, my apartment will get a rather intensive cleaning. Having such a hot, humid summer so early, my carpet could be home to all kinds of allergenic cooties. Blech...


So here I go, probably offline till Tuesday. Think happy airplane thoughts towards the sky tomorrow morning...
