Unbelievable...

So, what do I get in my e-mail box today? A message from the Madison East High class of 1983 reunion committee. How they found me, I'll never know. I almost wish they hadn't, now I have to decide if I want to go or not. Ugh...

I got out my yearbook last night

The one from my senior class year. Looked through it. It was a real good news/bad news experience. The bad news was that I was just as geeky back then as I remember, with as few friends and making as many embarrassing social gaffes as I recall. The good news was that there were a lot of faces I remember as belonging to really nice people--even if they weren't really close friends of mine, they were never mean or spiteful to me as some were. Where are Diane, Marcy, Lisa, Marcia, Paul B, Maureen, and Rod now? I hope they are having nice lives.

As for Denise and Mike... I didn't enjoy being beneath their notice. I hope they are having crappy overachieving lives. And those particular other people... I hope they're living in squalor in Rockford. That's what they deserve!

And Pat. Gosh, I was stupid to lose touch with him. He was a good friend. But can I stand to run into him weighing 40 pounds more than the last time he saw me? (Well, I suppose it's better than weighing 100 pounds more!!)

Maybe I'll just get my nails done. ;-)

I went to my 10-year reunion and had an OK time, but remembered very few people, since I spent most of my time either in advanced classes or in classes with folks one year up.

I got one reminder about my 20-year reunion a year and a half before it was to happen, and nothing after that. I can't say that I missed missing it. My life is Just Fine without having to drag it in front of my high school peers.
