I really should be in bed, I have to work tomorrow. It's only for half a day, but that short day starts as early as all the others...
Finished my shopping, baked and decorated more cookies, and made my appetizers for X-mas Eve at the family homestead. Take tortillas. Get some soft cream cheese. Get a can of black olives and a jar of roasted red peppers. Fresh basil, and grated parmesan cheese. Take the parmesan, and put a handful of it into the chopper attachment of a stick blender (or a food processor). Pulverize into even teenier bits. Pulverize the basil. Turn the olives and peppers into mush. Salt to taste. Throw it all into a bowl and mix it up. Spread onto the tortillas, and roll em' up. Wrap in saran wrap, and toss into the fridge for a few hours to firm up. Slice em', put em' on a plate all pretty like, and they'll think you slaved for hours!!! Oh, and they're REALLY GOOD TOO!!!
Hope everyone's X-mas is lovely.

Sounds very tasty! Was it experimental? My Xmas experiment this year was "champagne cocktails." Never had 'em, but was intrigued by the idea. So got out the sugar cubes and bitters, and the (not too cheap) bottle of Chandon. Pretty good, and kind of a hit at the open house. 'Course the Sprecher's root beer and ginger ale were more popular.

Merry Christmas! o

I got the recipie for the tortilla roll-ups out of one of those cookbooks you find at the grocery store check-out stand. "Holiday Appetizers" I think was the name of it. It called for an 8oz package of cream cheese, and I ended up with 12oz, so I just kept on adding extra amounts of everything till it tasted right!
