Yep, hooked already...
Dec. 1st, 2002 05:14 pmI could have been unpacking books, but spent the day HERE instead!
It was especially fun to pick an interest, pick random people off the list and look at their interests, thereby reminding me of things I like that I didn't think of in the first place!
Next, I'll look at my friends journals, and catch up on what's going on with them. (Might even make some comments!) Then, I'll start to regale folks with tales of my lonely life, my wonderful cat, my boring job, my normal family, etc...

Date: 2002-12-02 10:30 am (UTC)You've been reading my journal, haven't you? ;-)
I have a hard enough time keeping caught up with my Friends page reading, but, occasionally, I do the branching-out you're doing. (It was the Liavek reference that shocked me, finding that only one other person had put that down as an interest.)
Actually, I have far more interests than what I've put down, but I want to keep my list down to things that aren't just dilletante-ism. I have to be invested, in some form or fashion, in order to include the interest.

Date: 2002-12-02 03:13 pm (UTC)On a friendlier note, your user info page makes me think you and I were once in an apa together -- so I'm friending you, and I also added the apa in question to my list of interests, mostly as a way of signalling to others. This LJ place is kinda weird; I never guessed a lot of my old friends from before I left town would be here.
Anyhoo... good to see you!
Crazy(do you still remember the bit I wrote about a retreat to West Vlieland, in the Netherlands?)Soph
PS relate to the comment about dilletante-ism, but still can't resist adding a few more, again as helps for those dropping by...
re APAs
Date: 2002-12-05 03:38 pm (UTC)You (w/ and w/o) & DH even stayed w/me & my ex around WisCon, once -- now there's another interest listed by only a handful of people. You guys ever coming back for that?

Liavek!

Date: 2002-12-06 07:59 am (UTC)There's a reason: the shared world pretty much disintegrated, from what I'd heard. Given that the last volume was published paperback over 8 years ago....
Still, it was wonderful while it lasted, and it involved many authors that I simply adore, including Stephen Brust and Emma Bull. The magic concept was unique, as far as I could tell, and appropriately fraught with peril. And the protagonists! Quite an eclectic set, and far different from one's standard collection of hero-professions.
As for eBay, I have to get off my lazy ass and start scanning some of my Magic: The Gathering cards. For me, times are that desperate, and it's time for me to get even more clutter out of my life (and if I can get cash for it, so much the better).
Anyone want to give me money for a defunct Babylon 5 CCG card with Londo Molari's autograph?
