Happy hour....
Mar. 15th, 2003 12:12 pmFriday night I went out with Carrie, a co-worker. I'd met some of her friends at the ill-fated Valentine's party and they were really nice. She said they go out nearly every Friday, and it's a big group of nice people who mostly belong to the University's outdoor activities club. I said I never went to the University, and I'm not the least bit outdoorsy, but Carrie said that's OK, get out, show up, meet some folks. And I'm glad I did! It was a good group of people, and I felt welcome. And besides, it was somebody's birthday- there was CAKE!
So I had this dream last night. I was in a cartoon, but it was a movie. I was talking to some guy and Bugs Bunny about time travel. We were at a train station watching the trains go through this cartoon portal and disappear into the future. Then I woke up....
So, now it's Saturday afternoon, and I'll be spending it as I always spend my Saturday afternoons, home alone cruising LJ, listening to world music on the radio. The difference today- the window is wide open! Mmmmm.... fresh air!
The more I think about a LiveJournal party at Wiscon, the more I want it to happen. I AM NOT VOLUNTEERING TO DO IT!!!! But I can't stop thinking about it. Last year I opened up the bakesale room for a TurboAPA party on Sunday night, and it worked out really well. A party sort of came together at the last minute, with food and drink cobbled together from other parties leftovers. This year, my heart totally belongs to LJ, so I'd love to help make an LJ party happen at Wiscon!
