Pre-Travel Jitters
May. 20th, 2012 01:34 pmI'm getting excited, it's harder than usual to sleep. I'm consumed with conflicting thoughts of how great it'll be to see family and friends, and how terrifying airplanes are for me. The awesome social whirlwind, the tragedy of forgetting something important. Fancy dresses, flaming air crashes. It's all a jumble in my mind.
We leave Monday night, taking the red-eye to Chicago, and arriving in the very early morning. Then the bus up to Madison, for two days with mom and dad. Go to the hotel on Thursday, and Do All The Wiscon Things till Tuesday morning. Another night with the folks, where we Wash All The Clothes. Then it's back to Chicago, for several days with Luke's family. At one point, we're going to the Mythbusters exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. That's going to be fun!
Last week was our local Syttende Mai parade. Here are a few highlights:
( Uff-da! )
