I have a plan, I just need to get started. I got my car washed today, in preparation for being on display at the Fremont Fair this weekend. I'm worried that it's going to look stupid and ridiculous, but I'm committed to doing it! I have gathered 12 pounds of fridge magnets for this project. After mysteriously killing two perfectly good refrigerators, I was uncomfortable putting all my magnets back on after the latest fridge came into our apartment. Only a handful of my most favorite and special magnets went on it. The rest sat in a box for months, till it was suggested that I put them on my car for the Fremont Fair.
I needed to find more, a lot more. Value Village to the rescue! They have this wonderful wall, I call it the Wall of Random Things. Little plastic bags with housewares, knick-knacks, holiday stuff, candles, envelopes, just wacky random things, hung up on the wall, bundled in little bags and sold for cheap. I've made several trips in the last couple months and scored tons of magnets.
I posted to Facebook, and got magnets sent to me from Paula in Maryland, and from KB in Madison. Thanks, guys!

On the hood of the car will be the magnetic poetry, about seven sets, spread out so people can make statements with them. On the sides, magnets collected from people's travels. On the top of the car, random cutesy stuff. Back bumper will get the large, lightweight letter magnets for more word play. On the lower part of the car, all the "Joe's Plumbing" type magnets, that are most likely to fall off as I'm driving.

I suppose the next step is actually taking a magnet outside and making sure it will stick to all parts of the car. I stuck one on the door a while back, but I suddenly remembered that I had much of the back end of the car replaced after getting rear-ended in 2004. If it's all plastic or something now, I'm screwed.

So that's my plan. I'll post pictures after the fair.

News on the computer front isn't good. They finally called and said they were only able to get a few of my pictures off of the dead hard drive. I won't get to pick up the new computer till Thursday. Then I'll have to figure out how to make it talk to my camera and the printer. We did it once, but damned if I remember how.
