It's Not A Dream
Sep. 13th, 2008 12:52 amAll last night I had this feeling that it wasn't real, we didn't really get the apartment. Nothing this good could ever actually happen to me. I lay awake thinking we'd been victim to some sort of hoax or scam. All the talk on the news about our bank being near collapse wasn't helping my mood either. But then I finally fell asleep and I was OK. I awoke early (for me) and set to work. I have the keys and permission to begin moving in, so I got started. I took two car-loads of stuff over to the new place. I put water and soda in the fridge, toilet paper in the bathrooms, and paper towels in the kitchen.
Then I came back here and packed up five very heavy boxes of Luke's photography books. I took all the magnets off the fridge. I love to collect them and I have a lot, they nearly cover the fridge completely! I got a recommendation for a moving company, so I made an online reservation.
When Luke came home, we went to the storage locker and picked up the rest of our empty boxes. We have an ambitious plan: we're going to haul ass and try to get most of the moving done next week. I realize that this may kill us physically, but now that I know the apartment is for real, I can't wait to live there! Imagine, instead of just wondering how you're going to cram all your stuff into a new place, you can wonder how to best utilize all the extra space you'll have. Now it just sounds like I'm gloating, so I'll stop...
