Just bought a surprisingly cheap plane ticket to go to Madison in mid-August. There is a reunion on mom's side of the family, and I really want to be there. Enough so that I'll fly by myself, on the worst airline in the world, pay to check my bag, take the red-eye, fly into Milwaukee and rent a car at an insanely early hour.
Arrive 8/14, leave 8/19. Should be fun once the airplane part is over. The reunion is also a surprise party for my great-aunt, who is 85 this year. She's a lovely lady, the last of her generation, and I may not get the chance to see her again.
It occurred to me yesterday that I don't even own a pair of shorts anymore. You don't really need them in Seattle, so I got rid of the ones I had once I got too big for them. I don't really have much hot weather gear at all anymore.
OK, so the reunion is just that Saturday the 16th. I'm totally open for Culvers any other time! Mmmmmm... butter burgers... anybody? ....Bueller..?
