Gonna Get Myself Connected...
Nov. 7th, 2006 01:38 pmComcast told us to expect them between noon to five today. Dude knocks on the door at 11:58, I was impressed, and Luke's computer is now connected. Mine will have to wait till we get some sort of routing-splitter-thingie-majigger for the cable modem.
Every corner of this apartment has something in it that I need to work on. I tell myself that it's OK, I can take my time to set things up and recover from the nightmare of this weekend, but it's hard for me to do that. I want everything in it's place- now! I've always been quick to unpack. This time though, I'm worn out. Not as young as I used to be and all that...
What's left at the house is just stuff that will go into my locker, so we may not go back there till next weekend. I go back to work tomorrow. I was only going to take Friday and Monday off, but I took today as well, since Comcast was coming.
I had a dream Sunday night, my brother and the family dog who died many years ago were in it. Steve was sick, but not thin and dying. I told him I miss him and if there was any way I could bring him back, I would. He said, "I know you would, sis.." I woke up crying, and I was shaken for the rest of the day.
I haven't decided what to do about voting, I don't have any mail from the new place for proof of residence, so I might go to the polling place up the street from the old house, and just say I still live there. Can you even do that?
