Thanks, Neighbor!
Nov. 5th, 2006 09:26 pmComcast isn't coming till Tuesday to set us up for internet service, but someone nearby has wireless, so we're, um, borrowing it for a bit.
It's very weak, and cuts out every few minutes, so I'll try to just be a second here. Thanks to everyone who helped us yesterday and today. Whether you did it for us, or you did it for Jane, it's done, and we're so grateful for that. It was the most brutal, wrenching, miserable move I have ever experienced. It was pouring rain. Having Jane standing around in the living room gloating while we brought stuff downstairs made it even worse. I've moved at least a dozen times, and I'm usually proud of how well I do it. One week ago we looked at this apartment, and now here we are living in it. That's not a lot of time to organize. There are a few more shelves of Luke's books to pack back at the house, my computer, and two small filing cabinets that we can probably fit in my car. We don't know what we're going to do with his truck, there is nowhere to park it around here.
Jane wants us to tell her when we're coming over now. I'll tell her, but I'm not asking permission. The day she can prove that we don't own it anymore is the day I have to ask her permission to enter that house. We'll probably have everything out by mid-week anyway, and when we do, I don't expect to ever set foot in that house again.
Anyway, I'm exhausted and rambling and getting angry again.
Repeated thanks to everyone who helped...
