Another Venture Downtown...
Feb. 22nd, 2006 08:44 pmI've been venturing downtown more and more often, it won't be long before I actually know where I'm going. I have to force myself not to look up at the tall buildings like a tourist! I live here, dammitt, I don't get to stare!
Today, Luke and I went to City Hall and got our marriage license. It was a very simple process. There is a three day waiting period from the date of application, then you have sixty days to get married. We did it now with the hope that I'll be temping by March. Afterwards, we walked around a bit in Pioneer Square, stopping in a toy store, a great little used book store, then having a very early dinner (it was only 4 o'clock) at a place called Koji Osakaya. I was in the mood for Japanese food. Yum.
Tomorrow, Potlatch activities begin. There are errands for me to run during the day, then Luke's sister, who is coming to town for the convention, is planning on taking us to dinner. If it isn't too late when we get back, we'll go to the packet-stuffing party.
I'm not doing anything in particular for this Potlatch, I'm just attending. Luke and I are throwing an engagement party for a short time Friday in the consuite. Potlatch is a pretty small convention, about a hundred people, mostly west-coast folks. I'm really looking forward to seeing some Bay Area fans that I haven't kept in good contact with- especially those who aren't on LJ. There is also a couple coming in from Madison who I'm really looking forward to seeing. It should be a nice weekend!
Oh, and a great big happy birthday to
whumpdotcom and a super-duper happy anniversary to
