Glorious, Crack-Like Broadband...
Jan. 9th, 2006 07:53 pmOh, how I missed that broadband! I just went and read everyone's journals for the last week, since I got so far behind. I have e-mails to send as well...
I arrived in Seattle on time this morning, taking a flight out of Madison at the crack of dawn got me here before noon. That gives me practically the whole day to recover from the "airline headache" that I always get when I fly. Luke and I went out for breakfast before going home, then I unpacked, checked e-mail, and we collapsed for a nap. After a while, Jane called, her car broke down a few miles away, so Luke went to rescue her. Shortly after they got back, Luke left for class. Now I'm enjoying some rat-snuggling time.
I was able to go visit my brother at his house on Sunday afternoon. They let him out of the hospital Saturday, a day earlier than expected. He's up and around, can't climb stairs, drive, or lift *anything*, but he's glad to be home. Now another waiting game begins. At first it was "is it cancer?" When tests revealed that it was, then we had to wait to find out "can surgery remove it?" Now we know that it can't, so all we can do is wait to see if the tumor responds to chemo and/or radiation.
Sunday evening, I went with my mom to visit Ariel at P's house. It's been a little less than four months, but she didn't seem to remember me too well. Nevertheless, I held her and talked to her and got cat fur all over my sweater. I'm glad that she bonded to P so quickly after I left, but it was hard to take having her look at me like I was just another scary stranger.
