The Year In Review...
Dec. 31st, 2005 05:58 pm2005 was rather eventful. The whole "Move Across Country" deal was an exciting highlight. Wiscon was a highlight (it always is!). I took three classes and learned a few things which I hope I'll remember when I need them. Most important for me, was discovering that this long-distance relationship Luke and I had, could, in fact, be turned into an absolutely wonderful day-to-day loving partnership.
Downsides were having a sucky job, the sublet-hell I went through while getting ready to move, giving up my cat, the more recent roommate troubles, topped off with my brother being diagnosed with a really nasty form of cancer.
A mixed bag of a year, that's for sure.
I do not make New Year's resolutions. I will not promise myself or anyone else that I will do things that I don't particularly want to do, even if they are good for me, such as, you know, flossing or something. There are plenty of things I'd like to do in 2006, but I'm not going to beat myself up if they don't happen on a certain set-in-stone schedule. My brother's prognosis will have a lot to say in how 2006 plays out.
I have just a couple of goal-like things for the coming year:
I want to learn how to put photos on LJ. I did it once, but I didn't really learn how.
I want to get a job that doesn't suck out my soul and stomp it flat. And has good benefits...
Happy New Year...
