I pass by the school where I'll vote on the way to and from work. Happy to report at 7:20am, it looked packed, cars were lined up for blocks looking for parking. Almost as busy when I passed by at lunch time. A co-worker reported going 20 minutes before polls opened, waiting nearly an hour and being voter #97. This is a good thing. I'll go after work, I'll wait as long as it takes, and I'm happy to do it!

That's the number that appeared when I stuck my ballot into the machine at 4:35 this afternoon. Very impressive. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a line when I got there, but I guess I managed to beat the post-work voting rush by living and working so close together (5 minute commute!), and having the school where I vote smack-dab in the middle! Plenty more people were coming as I left.
In trying to BEAT the mad rush by voting this morning, early-birds to the polls BECAME the mad rush instead!

I'm afraid to turn on the TV, do we dare hope?
