I am SuperWoman...
Mar. 6th, 2004 05:09 pmAll it took was to sit down on the floor and finally get started. And once I got started, I couldn't stop. One year's worth of newspapers piled up in the corner, all gone. Put into paper bags and taken down to the recycle bins outside. Six bags of newspapers, and one bag of magazines. One trip downstairs for each bag. 43 steps back up to my apartment. Quite the workout, great for the old ticker- I feel like a million bucks! *Rawr*
Then I started dusting the carpeted stairs leading up to the loft. My vacuum has attachments for this, but they're a pain in the butt to put together. So I just got a damp rag and went to work. Dust-bunnies and cat hair went flying. Underneath the stairs is the kitchen table, so that had to be cleaned too. I never eat at the kitchen table, but everything on it was taken off, wiped down, etc. After that, the vacuum. Kitty disappeared for a while (vacuum cleaner= scary monster), but when I opened the windows to get some fresh air in here, she came out and forgave me.
There is still work to be done, papers and receipts to go through, the usual things that I sit on for months. I seem to be getting worse about letting things pile up. I'm not a pack-rat or a dirty person by any means, but I guess I just get comfortable surrounded by my own stuff. Visitors are rare, so I don't really do the deep clean very often (I should have done this LAST weekend, before
rdkeir came over!). But once in a while, like today, it hits me, and I really go to it!
Go me!
