Really good fireworks, really loud, really close, and NO MUSIC!!
Spent a wonderful afternoon at the KN/KN party. Storms were forecasted for the day, but never materialized. The weather was perfect. Fine conversations, cold drinks, and many forms of tasty beasts on the grill. My fruit trifle won rave reviews. Mmmm....
I left at 6:00, picked up my brother Dave, and we went over to my other brother Steve's place. Steve lives really close to Elver park, which hosts Madison's best fireworks display. We grilled out (more food, yum..), played with the dog, talked to his neighbors, then walked up to Raymond road. We spread out a blanket between the sidewalk and street, and had the best seat in the house for the fireworks. They are shot off just over the hill right in front of us. So close, but no crowds!
I don't know what it is about loud things that I like so much. I crave the feeling of the bass guitar thumping in my chest when I'm at a live show. I love the *boom* of fireworks I think more than I love the fireworks themselves! Elver park's display has a fantastic finale. An intense and lengthy barrage of white-hot explosions that rattles windows and sets off car alarms for blocks! I found myself standing in the street screaming "YES!! YES!! MORE!! OH BABY!! YES!! WOO-HOO!!" I just couldn't help myself... This is how fireworks should be.

Nothing else planned for the weekend except for domestic goddess chores. I can't believe it's only just Saturday. Better get to work...
