Starting around Corflu, I pretty much stopped cooking. So many social things were going on, and there was much to do to prepare for Wiscon. I didn't have time to make a meal for myself, AND bake cookies every night. I filled the freezer with TV dinners and pizzas. Tonight I started back simple, an omlette with onions and garlic. I had no cheese, and nothing green to speak of, but I did have an onion in the cupboard, and it all turned out just fine. The timing was perfect actually, [livejournal.com profile] squirrelswing called just moments after I finished eating...
A trip to the store is in order, I suppose different things are coming into season now. Time to scope out new sauces for a stir-fry. Mmmm...

[livejournal.com profile] serendipoz asks: "What's my totem, and why?"
I used to be really into snakes, and I would have said that snakes were my totem in the past. I love the way they move, how it feels to have a cold snake crawling around in my shirt on a hot summer day. People identfied me as a "snake" person, and I had one as a pet for several years. He was great. They make very good pets, they don't bark, don't eat very often, and they shed in one piece! After he died in 1995 though, I didn't think about getting another one. I don't think about snakes much anymore, though I still believe they are extremely cool animals. I'll never pass up an opportunity to hold one. I'm not sure if snakes still count as my totem...
