Can I cook, or can I cook?
Mar. 5th, 2003 12:17 amAh... no, I've made it abundantly clear that I cannot cook. But I CAN thaw things, I CAN open a tin can, and I CAN simmer until the sauce thickens! One reason I avoid cooking, is that I really don't want to handle raw meat. It's icky. I recently discovered frozen chicken, already cooked and cut up into bits. They did the icky part for me, I don't care how much it costs! On the same trip to the grocery store, I saw interesting looking sauces in the foreign foods section. I bought two cans of Indian saffron and cream sauce. They looked so good, and there was nothing dangerous listed in the ingredients. So tonight, I cut up some potatoes and onions,
boiled them a little first, added the bird parts, poured in the sauce and simmered. Would this work? Would it be any good? YES, Oh YES! It was GREAT!! Wish I had some bread to soak up the sauce with. It would also have been great over rice, but I think that would have been starch overkill. Besides, I've never made rice before. Next time, I'll add something green, zucchini maybe.
Mmmmm...
