Met some local fans for brunch this morning, and had a lovely time. I walked around downtown for a while, stopped in a few stores. I love downtown Madison, but I hardly ever have a reason to go there anymore. I had a Christmas gift certificate to a store on State Street that I just got around to cashing in today. ($20 worth of bath stuff from the Soap Opera. Oh yeah! Smells so good!) Went home and hung out on LJ all afternoon. I did some random putzing around, brought up lists of people interested in Madison and Wiscon. Found some people who are fans who go to Wiscon, but I don't know who they are, they're not on any of my friend's lists. Interesting. I'm sure I'll see them at Wiscon, but I won't know that they are Livejournal people too! We should have an LJ party...
Rick called from Florida and we talked for a short while, I had to get over to my folks for dinner, so I couldn't talk for long. I'm quite sure now that nothing romantic is going to develop. He really is nice, but he talks about himself way too much- usually the thing I get accused of doing! He doesn't seem to want to find out much about me. Nothing turns me on more than someone who asks me questions and seems to find me interesting. This, of course, is because I'm NOT actually very interesting! That's how it seems, anyway, if I were interesting (not to mention attractive), then why the hell am I still alone? Sorry, sounds like I'm fishing for comments... Just a bit bummed... Going to bed now....

Madison, huh? I was just (practically) there, in Beaver Dam. Do you know C's and my friend Bolo (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~bolo/)? He also lives in Madison, and is a sci fi fan. I convinced him to drive up sunday and watch me compete. It was nice seeing him again, however briefly.

Why, yes!

I met Bolo once! He drove all the way from Madison to Chicago just for dinner with C., myself, and a few others during the Chicago Worldcon in 2000. Seemed like a very nice fella...

I'd like to know more about the skating that you do, it makes me wish I'd taken lessons years ago. Funny, I don't think I've ever once skated indoors!

Cool...he's a really sweet guy.

That is funny, since I almost never skate outdoors! It's called Synchornized Skating.
Here's a link with a description and pictures and stuff:
