I hope everyone celebrates in a way that makes them happy. Safe and quiet at home, or in a roaring crowd, both have their merits. I'll be with friends, dressed in my holiday finest. It's something Whump instilled in me, to get dressed up for New Year's. I still enjoy it, even if I'm the only one at the party who dresses up. This year has been the worst in my entire life, and I really hope 2003 is better.

I normally stay in on New Year's but this year there are *two* must-see events, so I had to make a difficult choice! One of my favorite new bands (consonant, led by Mission of Burma's Clint Conley) is playing a First Night show at the Orpheum, but one of my all-time local faves (Prime Movers) are playing their 20th Anniversary Reunion show at the same time, and I eventually decided to go with that.

Besides, I live in town now, so I don't have to worry about all those drunk drivers (except when crossing the street).

Happy New Year to you too. I hope 2003 is better for you than 2002 was. Yeah!

Hope your party was as much fun as the Old Fans party we attended in Dublin. Ours didn't have guys in suits (hi whump!) but it did have plenty of Good Cheer, old friends, and several nice dogs (not holyoutlaw, though). HAPPY NEW YEAR!! ,
