I don't like the mall, I only go there if I'm shopping for someone else, or, like today, if I have gift certificates to spend. I can't otherwise afford the clothes there. I tend to stick to Target or Goodwill. But today I braved the post-holiday crowds to try to take advantage of some sales. It can be frustrating being 37 and thin. (I feel guilty about being thin sometimes, but I need to vent a little..) Things my size are designed for teenagers. I was looking for pretty tops and sweaters for winter. Everything I saw was flimsy, ruffly, ugly colors. Fine if you want to look like a teenage bimbo, it's rather a popular look these days, but it's not for me. I only found one top that I liked. Then I was off in search of bluejeans. Jeans that weren't hip-huggers. Jeans that weren't bell-bottoms. Jeans that didn't have laces up the sides, or ugly streaks of brown dyed into them. When I finally found them, NORMAL BLUEJEANS, I bought several pair, not caring that they were full price! I felt like I'd found the proverbial needle in the haystack! I just want nice, pretty, non-bimbo clothes, why are they so damn hard to find? End of rant..
I also found some holiday stuff for next year, jewelry to wear on New Year's Eve, and a Hello Kitty calendar for 2003. So I'm good.
