Today I got together with several friends and made X-mas cookies.
Everyone makes a double batch of at least one kind, then we put them into huge piles and divide them all up among ourselves. I'm eating some now... mmmm... The rest will go to the office, and to family.
It was good to spend time with folks I don't get to see very often. I try to imagine my life being as busy as theirs. Can't do it. "Overscheduled" is not a word one uses to describe me! After I made a comment about having yet another lonely Saturday night at home ahead of me, someone said, "GEE, I wish I had as much free time!" On the other hand, like I've said, I would LOVE to have more things to do. I guess everybody admires things in other peoples lives that they themselves don't have. What can you do....
I did get a bunch of things done tonight, did laundry, unpacked some more books, put the fridge magnets up (nearly 100 of them!),
tested all the extra keys I had made, and made some more cookie dough. Mmmmmm..... But I would have given it all up to have someone to go out and dance with..
Now, I'm going to see what my LJ friends have been up to, and maybe I'll stick my head in and make some comments.

Mmm, cookies, indeed. I'm doing my usual wintry shopping for baking supplies; dunno if I'll get that far. (Much of it's good raw, too, and nuts are good for you in small quantities -- yay!) Hmm, if I come back to town before Xmas, maybe I should stay at your place instead of H&K's: they have more people consuming cookies on the premises. (And isn't that a cute baby?)

When pottering around LJ, I've found it helps to comment on other people's writings. If nothing else, a comment lets them know that somebody's reading the stuff. The other day I looked at some people's long-version user info, and an average seems to be one response for every two posts/comments.
