Other Stuff And Whatnot
Jun. 22nd, 2011 03:19 pmI'm getting used to the new computer. Most of the various pages of things look like they did before, which is important to me. When they do something in the name of "progress", like move the favorites tab to the other side of the screen or something, it really messes me up.
I'm still reading e-mail from my provider's website, Luke has been too busy to help walk me through trying to set up Thunderbird on here. But we'll do it soon. We'll also try to put the backed-up data from the terabyte drive onto here. If successful, I'll only have to re-download a year's worth of videos and favorite LOLcat pictures.
When I was using Luke's computer, I remarked on how fast our home internet seemed, way faster than on my computer. I guess it was really that old, slow, and close to death for a very long time. Another discovery on the new laptop- the mouse problem I had, where one click registers as two most of the time- I thought it was another manifestation of my ancient machine. Nope, it's still happening. It's the current mouse, which isn't very old. I'll just have to replace it at some point. Mice are inexpensive, though.
Smartphone: still smarter than me. I mostly only use it for the Journey Tracker app.
Yesterday, the weather was great, and Luke went for a walk with me, 7.75 miles.
On Monday, I removed all the magnets from my car. I felt kinda sad to do so. We took it through the car wash, and the finish isn't as bad off as I thought, although there are quite a lot of tiny scratches. If I still lived in Wisconsin, they'd start rusting next winter. I think I'm just going to have to put a few random magnets back on it. Some of them stuck so well, they were hard to get off. And I liked how it looked.
