After months of being pissed at LJ for messing up my photo galleries, I finally made some new ones, and started uploading photos again. Luke and I probably won't get a tree this year, but I got all my holiday stuff out of the locker anyway. I decided to make a new favorite things gallery, holiday edition:
Gallery Here
I wanted to make a gallery of my favorite LOLs, and post them when I needed a laugh (which is pretty much all the time). I copy pictures off of Icanhascheezburger and other sites that I like and have a bunch saved on my computer. LJ won't let me upload these into a gallery, and I don't know why. If those pictures are saved on my computer just like the pictures I've taken or scanned, how is it that LJ sees them as different? Is it a copyright thing?
I used to love the holidays, but I'm growing to hate them. There is a commercial for Target I see a lot that makes me sad. This young woman buys a tiny tree, decorates her very small apartment in trendy, clever ways, then gets ready to host a party. Lots of hip young people come over, and everyone is happy. I want this kind of thing in my life.
I'd love to go to a holiday party. I love dressing up, bringing snacks and cookies. I'd love to be busy with holiday things right now. Mostly though, I'm feeling sad. Luke and I are the only ones who will eat those cookies. (Not that I don't love cookies, but they're small and there's a LOT of them.) It can be hard to hear people talk about their plans and their friends and the warmth of the season. Getting a tree can help, because I get all my holiday stuff out, put it up and enjoy it, but then again, hardly anyone else ever sees it.
Anyway, I'm fast slipping into worm-eating territory, so I'd better pull myself out of it. Long story short, the holidays can suck, but I love my holiday stuff, and I wish, as always, we had more local friends.
