We've been working our way through a number of David Attenborough documentaries. Planet Earth. Blue Planet. Life of Birds. Life of Mammals. Life in the Undergrowth. The Undergrowth (which we finished last night) was pretty scary for me because there were a lot of spiders, and I'm really afraid of spiders. I find them interesting, but fear is hardwired to my very core. No amount of telling me how beneficial spiders are will prevent me from killing any that come within reach. I had nightmares last night about suddenly being a few inches tall and transported to the forest floor in some tropical place. I was running away from army ants and being eaten by spiders....
We couldn't find Trials of Life or The Private Life of Plants on GreenCine or at our video store, so they may have to come from the library.

We went through the Sopranos last year, and have yet to find another show that captured our interest so completely. Some time ago, we stopped after three and a half seasons of Six Feet Under, and didn't pick it up again. [livejournal.com profile] dirtylibrarian lent us The Wire, a show that got rave reviews, and some were even calling the best television show ever made. We watched three or four episodes, and I was just turned off by it. It did nothing for me. Now we're giving Curb Your Enthusiasm a whirl. It's hard to believe something so physically painful to watch can be so funny. We're yelling at the TV "NO! He did not just say that!!" I think it'll be something we can enjoy in small doses, good thing it's only a half-hour show.

Now I'm off to troll YouTube, and then begin my nightly dose of worrying about stuff.
