It is in this time zone for a little while longer, at least.

But first, to update from Friday, I know everyone is just dying to know how our first grilling attempt of the summer went:

Damn Tasty!

OK, so, the rest of the weekend. Saturday was very productive. I did about a zillion loads of laundry. I vacuumed the upstairs, and we worked on the bathroom closet. There were more boxes to go through, and more things to sort and winnow. We are *SO* ready to move out of here. We just need some more time (or maybe a miracle) for it to happen.

Sunday, we cleaned up the living room, and the rat cage. We went to the Sunday pub meet, and had a fine time. It was a large and lively crowd for such a warm, summy day. We'd invited people to come over to the house afterwards for cake and ice cream, being that my birthday was coming up the next day.

For my 40th birthday a year ago, I was just visiting Seattle, making plans to move here. And now, I live in the house that I used to just visit, and I'm married to Luke. It hasn't been easy, I worked hard and gave up a lot. And once I got here, well, again, it hasn't been easy. Despite the housemate issues, the greatly diminished income, and some recent health issues that make me *really* miss being insured, I've never been happier in my life. I love him, and I love Seattle.

Tonight, we walked to Kabul on 45th street, and had a truly wonderful meal. A few blocks down the street we had cookies at the newly opened Chocolati, a chocolate shop and coffee house. We've been anxiously awaiting their opening in our neighborhood, as we like their other location on Green Lake Way.

So that was my pleasant, mellow 41st birthday, and the weekend preceding it. Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes!
