I seem to be getting more allergic to the rats every day. They are still up here in the office with us, and my sinuses are not happy. It appears that my lungs are getting involved as well, and I'm starting to feel wheezy all the time. This does not prevent me from handling them constantly, however, because they're just so darn cuuuute!! Rats only live about two years, and the boys may be gone by the time Luke and I are finally ready to leave this house. They'll be two years old this summer. I don't know if we'll be able to have rats as pets in the future. It would be a shame if we can't, because I've grown so fond of having them around. I can't wait to introduce them to my folks when they're here for the wedding!
There was angst and stress in the house on Saturday, and party prep for Vanguard did not go well. At one point, Luke and I decided that we'd done as much of our stuff as we could, and we had to get out of the house for a while and have some dinner. Lucky for us, we live within walking distance of a large number of wonderful restaurants. We tried the Mandalay Cafe this time, and we weren't disappointed. Well, it took *way* too long to get our check, but other than that it was a great meal! We rushed home, and found that a few people had already arrived for the party. I was cranky about some roommate related things for a while, but eventually relaxed and had a fine time.
There was even more angst in the house on Sunday, and Luke and I were happy
to be invited over to Andy & Carrie's house to play games, have dinner, and watch the Oscars. We started with Mille Bornes, which I hadn't played in many, many years, but is one of my favorite games. They made three great home-made pizzas, and we had a really nice evening.
I'm supposed to start another temp job on Wednesday, I'll get more info about it tomorrow. Sounds like I'm going to be purging files in another downtown law firm.
