Cats, Rats & Cd's...
Nov. 12th, 2005 06:32 pmAriel will be fine for the time being. She does not have diabetes or thyroid problems. Her kidneys are in the very early stages of failure. She isn't in any distress, however, and nothing earth-shattering or expensive needs to be done at this point in time. Just the addition of wet food to bring her moisture content up, and hopefully her weight as well. This is good news, P and I are relieved. On the other hand, P's other cat was recently declared to be a little too fat, and the inevitable addition of wet food to her diet won't be such a good thing. They can't be fed seperately. Oh well..
This afternoon, I went to Ratapalooza, a very small rat fancier's exhibition held in a very small school gym. I am happy to report that I went there and found the place all by myself. Go me... There were a lot of displays with information about rats, breeders were selling them, and there were some very cute ones to see in cages. Sleek, energetic little things that put our own rotund ratties to shame! I was hoping to find suppliers selling things like food, housing, and other gear, but the only selling going on was rat-related crafty stuff. Still, it was fun..
I left the rattie extraveganza (such as it was) and paid a visit to the storage locker. There I collected all my CD's and the racks to hold them, along with my winter jacket and a small box of art I need to go through.
My car is starting to sound REALLY bad, and I already made plans to take it in on Monday. It's kind of a shame, I was really in an exploring-by-myself mood today, but I didn't feel I should venture too far. While on my way to the storage place, I knew the street I wanted was coming up soon, but it came up sooner than expected, and I missed the turn. I drove on for a couple miles anyway before turning around, just to see where the road would lead. If the car hadn't been making such awful noises, I would have driven much farther. I'd never been to that part of the city before.
When I got home,
holyoutlaw had already left for a photo assignment, so I brought in my CD racks, put them back together, and unpacked my CD's. Now I'm going to open up the art box and see if I still have the same taste I had three years ago. Nothing in this box was ever on the walls of my previous apartment.
