Important Cat Lesson- Not Learned...

Tail -vs- Office Chair= office chair wins...

When she's not in my lap at the computer, the cat likes to park herself on the floor somewhere around my feet. I'm always very aware of where she is, I wouldn't want to run her over with the chair. This evening however, she parked herself *right* behind me, and I didn't know she was there. Till I backed up. Despite her advanced age, she's incredibly fast! In a split second she was all the way across the room, looking very annoyed. I said I was sorry, but it was her own fault for laying so close to the chair where I couldn't see her. I noticed a clump of fur on the floor. A big clump of her raccoon-striped tail fur. I bring her over to take a look. Sure enough, there's a big bald spot on the back of her tail! Luckily, the skin isn't red or torn or irritated looking, so I know she's not hurt. It looks really funny, though, and I know she's embarrassed. It was such a perfect fluffy tail...




Now, on the one hand, it'd be great to have a permanent LJ membership. Just for the coolness factor. On the other hand though, It's too expensive, and I really don't need one. I have *one* icon, only one, I don't need any more than that, the one I have is perfect. I don't create polls, or need any sort of photo-hosting capabilities. I don't think I use any of the features a paid member has. I don't want to go back to being unpaid though. whumpdotcom treats me to a paid membership every year as my birthday present. Thanks, Whump! (He's a great ex!)
