Or so says my office building, which can apparently adjust it's internal temperature without any help from people- thank you very much! It has arbitrarily decided that as of May 20th, it was officially full-on summer, and the air conditioning will run at peak arctic capacity till, oh, say, sometime in October. 66 degrees is a rather unpleasant temperature to work in, especially sitting right underneath the cold-blasting air vent. It's even colder than the unbearably cold basement office I had at the old building. There I had a space heater going 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, even during the hottest days of summer. Uber bosslady's advice: "wear a sweater". I refuse on principal, I shouldn't have to bundle myself in furs in order to be able to function in my workspace. Dammitt.
Brand-new bosslady started on Wednesday. So young... I worry. I have yet to see her smile, and they apparently chose her because she was "warmer" than the other candidate for the job. Maybe she's just nervous. Maybe she's a total sourpuss. It's simply too early to tell!!

So, what's on tap for the immediate future? I want to get everything from my old computer onto the laptop. And, um.. learn how to use the laptop. Word and Excel classes start next week, and run through the month of June. I have boxes of party supplies to go through and consolidate. Things need to be washed, repacked, put away in the storage room. That'll be a job for this weekend. I've got several hours of stuff to watch that I taped while I was at Wiscon.
For later in the summer, I still want to have a garage sale. I need to call my landlord. I suggested asking in the monthly newsletter if anyone else in the building would be interested in going in on a multi-family garage sale. They said it was a great idea, and put it in last month's newsletter, but I don't know if there was any response. If that doesn't pan out, my brother offered the use of his driveway sometime this summer if I wanted to have a garage sale over there. He lives on a nice suburban street in Middleton. So that's another possibility.
I've come across some collectable items, coins, toys, and trading cards I could sell that could net me a couple hundred dollars. Every little bit will help.

Natter about my upcoming birthday... which is July 10th... get those cards in the mail early... )

So, in the "obvious to everyone else, but I'm clueless" department: I am not without ego, I would like to have my Wiscon natterings included in that technorati, technorama, technoroonie, or whatever it is. But I don't know what to do. Saying "add this tag" isn't enough. The only reason I can even do an LJ cut is because someone showed me- multiple times, and I wrote it down! Every slash, every bracket, and in what order. I call upon my techie friends once again. Someone walk me through it... slooooowly...
Thanks..
