All weekend the weather was insanely warm. I, of course, never set foot outside. Once Monday rolled around, the thermometer plunged back down to sub-Arctic level. This did not prevent the robins from making an appearance. I saw my first one of the season this morning. Usually, I'm the last person in the whole city to see them. Then when I got home tonight, I saw a whole bunch of them in the trees out in back of my apartment building. They were flying around, chasing each other like crazy. I strongly suspect that they didn't have birdie sex on their tiny little minds, they were just flying around trying to keep warm!

Oh well, at least it's still light out now when I get home from work. Spring will turn up eventually...

It's a new TV show on the Style network. Like Iron Chef, but with crafts.
Challenge #1, make a trivet. Out of items collected off the streets of New York City. In ten minutes.
Challenge #2, make lingerie. Out of a pair of men's underwear. You are given ribbon and a rhinestone & stud setter.
Challenge #3, make two napkin rings out of molding clay. In ten minutes. With a New Year's theme. You can use a pasta maker.
If it weren't for the horrible host/announcer, who sounds like he'd rather be in a wrestling ring, this would be the greatest show ever. Gotta tell my crafty co-workers about it...

I'll ask the following questions:
*Do you think I'm serious when I say I'm moving to Seattle?
*Do you believe that I can do it?
*Do you think I should?
*Would you be willing to help?
*Are you absolutely sure you don't want a fondue set?

Tonight I've been sorting. I went through several boxes of stuff, and I tossed quite a bit, and consolidated the rest. I have an awful lot of kitsch...

More musings on moving.. )
