Walking to work, day 2...
Jan. 6th, 2005 10:10 pmMadison had a total of 9 inches of snow. I walked to work and back, yesterday and today, 7.2 miles total, and boy- does my butt feel it! This morning's walk took longer, 40 minutes, mainly because no-one had shoveled their sidewalks yet. It was still dark when I left home. And the hill, god, that evil, evil hill, it nearly killed me. Mine were the first set of tracks, and the snow was almost knee deep. All of the snow on the sidewalk, plus the snow the plow had scraped off the street and dumped on top of that. When I finally slogged my way to the top, I felt like I'd just climbed Mt. Everest. *Whew!* I need bigger lungs... but I did it! Again! Go me...
Now the streets are all cleared off, and if the car starts, I'll drive tomorrow. Poor boo-boo car is buried in snow and hasn't been driven since Tuesday. I'll need extra time to dig it out in the morning.
It's been a good week. Monday- I was off! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, bosslady was on vacation (she's back tomorrow though, boo!).
Gotta go... phone's going to ring soon...
