At this moment, it isn't terribly hard, I must say. To get to this Saturday
afternoon place though, you have to start on Friday night. I ran a bunch of
errands after work, went to the store, came home and cooked something random
that turned out pretty good. I did some kitchen and bathroom puttering while
I could hear rain coming down pretty hard outside. I watched a couple hours
of stuff on tape that I had been meaning to watch all week. Normally, I eat,
do one or two things and then fall dead asleep on the couch. Not Friday, I
got home late, I'd stayed awake and gotten stuff done, it was 10:15 and I
was just poking my head into LJ for the first time, when the phone rang.
It's [livejournal.com profile] holyoutlaw. "Is it bath time yet?"
I'm late for Bath Night! I go upstairs, climb into the tub, and we talk for
a couple of hours. Yay for cordless phones, cheap calling plans, and a
mutual love of warm water! After finally hanging up, I stayed in the tub all
night. Very pleasant. I climbed out around 8 this morning, the sun was
shining, and there was frost on all the cars and rooftops. I didn't feel
like going to bed, so I sat at the computer and putzed around on LJ. I'm not
usually home or awake at 8am, and the quality of the sunlight coming into
the living room was really nice. It faces south, and actually gets more
light in fall and winter, as the sun is lower and isn't blocked by the
overhang. Many opportunities for a cat to doze as the large patch of sun
travels slowly across the floor.
There were a few things I could have done today, but nothing that can't wait
till tomorrow. I'd slept in the bathtub, but not a real night's sleep, and
by 11:30 I was in need of a nap. The cat was already on the floor, asleep in
the sun, so I joined her. Man, that was nice! I dreamt I was at an amusement
park with [livejournal.com profile] holyoutlaw, riding rides, laughing. I woke up, read
the Onion, had a few Oreos. Kitty was assisting me in composing this,
sitting on my lap for a while, now she has returned to her sunlit slumbers.
Not sure what I'll do for the rest of the afternoon, and that's OK. Might go
see a band tonight, might not...

So now, I'll hit send and see how it looks. Posting by e-mail looks like the
way to go for me, although the finished product tends to look pretty choppy,
lines and paragraphs ending in random-looking places. Having the mood and
music things are cute, but I can certainly live without them. I don't know
if I can post to my communities this way, so I may have to go back to the
EVIL BIG UPDATE BOX if I want to do that. Several people sent links to the
LJ Portal page. I'd never seen or heard of that page before. What's it for-
as opposed to the regular update page?
Many thanks to everyone who offered support and advice, and didn't call me a
spaz (out loud anyway..)

OK, hitting send, and wondering how it'll look when it gets to my page...
