Great Wiscon weekend!
Jun. 2nd, 2004 12:09 amIt was long, it was exhausting, and it was wonderful! I have a routine now, of the things I do at Wiscon, and things I want to have happen. I love doing the Tiptree bakesale, and it's always in the room across from consuite. In that room is a huge long conference table, absolutely perfect for putting vast numbers of plates of delicious goodies out to sell. I'm only there one weekend a year, but I know exactly how the room is set up, where everything is, and what supplies I need to bring. I've been doing this for what, 12-odd years now? For the second year in a row, I've thrown the LiveJournal party in that room on Sunday night. There is nothing better than being the only person with access to that room all weekend, being able to store stuff in there, and take as long as needed for getting ready and cleaning up afterwards. It's also a great place to go to get away from the noise and crowds for a moment if need be. (Or for several moments, as
holyoutlaw can attest to...heh, heh...)
For the second year running, I've had the sleeping room right next door to the bakesale room. It's insanely convenient, I don't mind the noise from the hallway full of partygoers. I'll always stay in the hotel, even though it's a stretch to afford it. Pretty much the only time I ever drink alcohol is at Wiscon. It's a safe place where I know darn near everybody, and I don't have to drive home!
A few random Wiscon thoughts:
rdkeir, thanks again!
bibliofile, fine job of iconic sticker producing!
brisingamen, dinner was lovely, worth the two year wait! We'll miss you next year!
replyhazy and
billzilla, AAARRRRR!!
crazysoph, someone made rosettes for the bakesale! They were beautiful, and absolutely perfect!
ala_too, I swear, we thought you were asleep...
holyoutlaw, watch your snail-mail box..
