Of the five things I listed to do yesterday, two got done. I drove around all over town and found a nice gift for my mom. The mother's day dinner for tonight may have to be postponed, however, because mom has a terrible cold. While I was looking for stuff for her, I hit a bunch of thrift shops looking for red shoes. No luck, but I have till Wiscon.
I finally sent out the big e-mail for the bakesale that I've been putting off for weeks. I don't know why it's so hard for me to do. Once it's done, I feel great, I can just coast as responses come in, and answer questions as they come up.
My gripe about not having any summer weddings to go to has been fixed. I forgot that a cousin of mine is getting married this summer, and the invitation came in the mail the other day. They're doing it on my birthday, which falls on a Saturday this year. I'm really glad, because that saves me from planning a party that few people could show up for, or from organizing a large dinner excursion, which can be a pain in the ass. 39 is a birthday that I just don't want to think about. So instead, I get to party, right here in town, with a set of relatives who are a heck of a lot of fun, and I don't get to see that often. That works for me just fine. When I hit 40 next year, I just might have to be out of the country, or spend a week dead, for tax purposes...

Update within an update: dad just called, mom still feels like crap, so we'll do dinner another time.
