A Valentine for me...
Feb. 13th, 2004 10:18 pmBut first, the backstory: I had to go downtown after work. I was advised to make my hotel reservation for Wiscon VERY soon. To do this, I had to go there in person, because I'm one of the 4 people in the western hemisphere who does not have a credit card, and would therefore have to give them a cash deposit to hold the room. This is not a problem. I like going downtown, I hardly ever get a chance to spend time there. I went straight from work, and the rush hour traffic seemed to just part like the Red Sea around me. I had the Mermen on in the car, very, very loud. I was in the parking ramp by 5:00. First, I stopped at the Soap Opera, one of my favorite stores, and picked up some soap and bubble bath. I love their handmade soaps. They smell absolutely wonderful, without making you smell too strongly after using them. That takes some skill... I left there feeling pretty good, after all, it was Friday the 13th, and nothing particularly bad had happened to me so far. Late afternoon sun reflected dramatically off of the Capitol building. I love this town...
Anyhoo- ( The rest of it )
I floated- yes, floated- down the street to the hotel, and got my room reservation taken care of. Then I went home and made a quiche.
Must find shoes...
