Good/Bad Birthday...

I have it on fairly good authority that I sure as hell don't look 38. So that's good. However, I feel that I haven't accomplished anything remotely important in my life. That's not so good. This birthday has me feeling very conflicted. I'm lucky to be alive, but it's not enough, I want to be happy, too.
At least I get cake today...
That might help me feel better.

Wasn't too bad...

Thanks to everyone who sent good birthday wishes, they helped a lot! Friends are good. Cake is good. I made a birthday cake for the office. It said "Happy Birthday To ME!!" in pretty purple letters. As I was putting it in the breakroom this morning, one of the hygienists asked how old I was. When I told her, she was genuinely shocked, and said she didn't think I was even 30 yet. That started the day off well. But it didn't last. At 9:00 I climbed into Dr. D's chair and got two new fillings. And a lecture about flossing. By lunchtime I had my mouth back, and I had a piece of my own cake, mmmmmm...
Went over to the folks for dinner. Ham on the grill, tater salad, and of course more cake, mmmmm....
So tired now....
