Juliebata's music quiz...
Jan. 11th, 2003 10:15 pmGreen-Amber's song lyric quiz put "Turning Japanese" into my head for several days. I dug out a tape I made in about 1984 of my favorite songs of that era. I have a very obscure and often embarrassing collection of 80's music. Can anybody identify the following songs:
1) How long you going to carry on, this one on one charade,
let's don't and then say we did, that's a game you like to play
We've been through this so many times, that the results always the same, I always end up complaining, when I got myself to blame
2) What can I do to change her mind, maybe she thinks I'm just not her kind, I think she wants me but, she's tryin to play hard to get, when she treats me this way I wish we'd never met
3) You walk, I'll run, and follow right behind you,
you call, I'll come, and I won't remember where I come from
Over there, at the end of the bar, this fish keeps swimmin in a jar, I feel a tug on the line, which end will I be on this time
4) You keep stopping when you could be walking, looking at the pictures on the wall
You keep quiet when you should be talking, you just don't make any sense at all
5) Baby baby when I play with you, there's no place I'd rather be
Can't believe, can't believe it's true, the things that you do to me
6) Straight paths curve, smiles, eyes, powers to confound me
I lose my nerve, your voice, it echoes all around me
Ease me down, keep that promise that you made to me
Take my hand, my mind reels, all my senses rise
7) I don't want pain, I want to walk, not be carried, I don't want to give it up, I want to stay married, I ain't no dog, tied to a parked car
8) The order came directly from the CIA, to start the following investigation: find out what's the hidden power lying in the groove, that drives 'em crazy all across the nation
9) Don't let it happen again, 'cause that I couldn't take
Once was quite enough, it's easy to forgive, harder to forget
Most of this stuff is so obscure, I doubt anyone will have heard of these songs, but they're all very important relics of my past.
It was fun to dig them out and play them again.
