One More Day... I Think...
Mar. 20th, 2006 10:49 pmStill temping at the law firm, I think we'll finish stuff up tomorrow. Even if we don't, I kind of want tomorrow to be the last day. I have wedding things to do. If another short job comes along later this week, I'll probably take it, but I want a few days off at least right around the wedding.
I'll miss the lunch place I found a couple blocks from the office. Called Market Fresh, it's just a salad bar and buffet with mostly Asian stuff. I don't know if it's a chain, or if that's the only one. It's small, really inexpensive, and very popular, there is a long line every day. I totally by-pass the salad, and head for the hot food. Rice, teriyaki chicken, deep-fried zuccini slices, spinach lasagne, meatballs in sweet/sour sauce, baked salmon, and potstickers. That's what I've had for lunch every day for the last week and a half! The teriyake sauce is great, the meatballs are great, the salmon is great, and the potstickers (though a bit gummy from sitting in a steamtable) are fantastic! Needless to say, all this is starting to show up on the bathroom scale, so that's another reason this particular job needs to end!
I talked to my brother Steve this evening. He's between rounds of chemo, and feeling pretty good. He went back to work today, for the first time since mid-December. He's on light desk duty for now, but happy to be back.
